Adding DDboost repository results in error 5049 or 5037

Challenge

When attempting to add an EMC Data Domain repository, one of the following errors is received:

Illegal operation. Err: 5037
Failed to connect to '\\datadomain'.



OR

Unable to connect to Data Domain storage \\datadomain
File not found. Err: 5049

Cause

The EMC Data Domain server name was entered incorrectly.  For example, typed as a UNC path.

Solution

Enter only the name or IP address of the EMC Data Domain.
