Unable to Select Clustered Instance When Configuring Backup
Article Applicability
This article concerns a behavior observed when using Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server.
Challenge
When selecting Databases to Backup Up, the Instance drop-box does not list an option for cluster\instance; instead, there is only an option for node\instance.
In some rare instances, the cluster\instance is available to be selected, but after selecting it, no databases are listed.
Solution
HotFix Installation Instructions:

- Download the hotfix to the server where Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL is installed.

- After extraction, unblock the files using the following PowerShell cmdlet:
- Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Veeam\Plugins\Microsoft SQL\
- Rename the following files to add the suffix .old
- MSSQLRecoveryManager.exe
- Veeam.Backup.Core.dll
- Veeam.Backup.Framework.dll
- Veeam.Backup.MSSQLPlugin.UI.Backup.exe
- Veeam.Backup.MSSQLPlugin.UI.Restore.exe
- Veeam.Backup.Win32API.dll
- Copy the fix files from C:\temp\4450\ to C:\Program Files\Veeam\Plugins\Microsoft SQL\
