Challenge
Archiving Job to Microsoft Azure Archive Storage fails with the following error:
This request is not authorized to perform this operation. Agent failed to process method {LongTerm.GetRepositoryKey}
Cause
This issue may be directly related to permissions but can also occur due to account type or connectivity issues.
Solution
Review each of the sections below for more information:
Storage Account Type:
- Ensure that the Account type is GPv2. Archive Tier for GPv1 is not supported.
Reference:
Lack of permissions:
- Confirm that the Storage Account used has required permissions.
- If the Storage Account does not have Contributor Role or Service Administrator, a custom Azure role must be created.
Connection issues:
- Ensure that the subnet of the proxy appliance and the Gateway Server are allowed in Selected Networks.
The Subnet for the Proxy Appliance is selected when adding the Azure Archive Storage to Veeam Backup & Replication.
Reference:
- Ensure that none of NSG or Azure Firewall Rules are blocking the ports 443 - 80 from this subnet and Gateway Server.
