Challenge
When one or more federated SSO vCenter Servers joined to VMware Site Recovery Manager are added to Veeam ONE, the Object Properties Collection Task may complete with a "fail" status. Correlated with the task completion time, an entry in the Event Logs will display "An item with the same key has already been added."
Cause
This issue occurs when VMware Site Recovery Manager manages two or more Tag Categories with the same name. For example, the following categories are often duplicated:
SRM-com.vmware.vcDr:::status
SRM-com.vmware.vcDr:::consistencyGroup
SRM-com.vmware.vcDr:::protectionGroup
The creation of the duplicate Tag Categories occurs when multiple federated SSO vCenter Servers attempt to create the Categories simultaneously (or nearly the same time), and are unable to idenftiy that the Category already exists. When this occurs, one or more servers may create their own Category instance, which causes duplication in VMware Site Recovery Manager. This duplication of Tag Categories may also happen if a network connectivity loss occurred during the Categories and Tags replication between the servers.
Solution
The recommended solution is to correct the Category name uniqueness by manually removing the duplicate entries. Please follow the steps suggested by VMware in the "How Site Recovery Manager Handles Storage DRS Tagging (2108196)" KB article, specifically the paragraph labeled "Remove Duplicate Tags and Categories."
