Exchange backup fails at "TeamsMessagesData" folder

Challenge
Backup of an Exchange mailbox fails with:
Failed to synchronize item changes in folder: TeamsMessagesData
Cause
There are several product logic moments involved into this aspect.This issue is currently being investigated by Veeam and Microsoft.
Solution
A stop-gap workaround has been implemented in Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 5d cumulative patch KB4235, which skips the ‘TeamsMessagesData’ folder if its backup fails. A warning will be displayed in the job when this occurs to notify the backup admin that data backup was skipped.
This workaround will cause the skipped data to be excluded from backup and not be restorable. All other mailbox data will be still be backed up properly and restorable.
Veeam and Microsoft are working together to review the issue and develop improvements for future product releases. As new information becomes available, this KB article will be updated.
