Configure restore to Microsoft Azure Stack version 1808 and later

Challenge

Restore to Microsoft Azure Stack version 1802 and later requires specific registry keys on the backup server.

Solution

To be able to restore workloads to Microsoft Azure Stack, you must do the following on the backup server:

1. Create the following registry keys:

   Location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication
   Type: DWORD
   Name: AzureManagedDisksCheckMaxDiskSize
   Data: 0 (zero) 
   
   Location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication 
   Type: String 
   Name: AzureManagedDisksForcedAPI  
   Data: 2017-03-30

2. Restart the Veeam Backup Service.
