Challenge
During a backup job run, a virtual machine may become unresponsive for long periods of time while creating a native Cisco HyperFlex snapshot.Cause
Cisco Hyperflex creates so called SENTINEL snapshots every time Cisco HX native snapshots are triggered. Creation of these snapshots takes some time and may cause certain application-related errors if a virtual machine is frozen for some time. With the proposed fix for Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 update 3, these SENTINEL snapshots will be kept on the virtual machines, thus allowing much faster storage snapshot creation times during subsequent backup job runs.Solution
Download and install the hotfix. Below are the installation instructions:1. Stop Veeam Backup Service
2. Change the following DLL extensions to .old on the Veeam server in C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup
Veeam.Backup.ViSoap.dll
Veeam.Backup.Core.dll
Veeam.Backup.Common.dll
3. Unpack the DLLs from the fix to the same folder and double-check that new files are Unlocked in their properties
3. Start Veeam Backup Service
